Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
It is his initial trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to play at the top level was over.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an better serve.
The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the final five games to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued 4 initial break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
